Anya Volz was born in Vermont but now lives living in New York City. The comedian has earned the acclaim of males across America for her witty comics that aren't preachy. She is a contributing author and creator of content for Riot Fest The Hard Times and Macaulay Culkin's Bunny Ears. She has appeared in BuzzFeed, Vulture and several comedy events throughout the nation including the New York Comedy Festival. She is the co-host of Best Mistakes Podcast, which is about making mistakes with Brooklyn comedian Nika Lombazzo. Pre-covid she produced and cohosted Our Time of the Week at The Stand Comedy Club main room and the monthly show Thirst Trap With Anya Volz which has taken place in legendary venues such as Union Hall Caveat and House of YES and has been reported by The New York Times and Time Out New York. Her parents are Dennis Alan Taylor, a former banking executive along with Jennifer Marina Joy, a psychologist who is approximately half English and half Spanish. Her father is Argentine, of Scottish-English descent. Her mother's ancestral lineage is Spanish as well as English. Taylor-Joy has five siblings four from her father's previous marriage. Her family is originally located in Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria at the age of aged six. Taylor-Joy acknowledged that her move was painful, and she refused to go back to school in English as she wanted to be able to return to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school when she moved from Northlands. Then she enrolled in Queen's Gate School and studied ballet and performed in school's dramas. At 16, she quit school to focus fully on acting. Taylor-Joy was an actress as a kid who was certain she would be one. She realized her dream after Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a modeling job.
